Ever since I can remember I’ve been boy crazy. My younger sister thought boys had cooties until she was 14, but not me. I had a crush on a boy in Kindergarten, and every year after that. By 2nd grade, I had a boyfriend, Ralph Norman, who used to sit behind me during story time and play with my hair. By 4th grade I had a crush on a cute blonde named Barry with a Davy Jones (The Monkeys) haircut and a penchant for getting me in trouble. Okay, I admit, I got myself in trouble. Our desks faced each other and I sat across from him and every time he leaned back in his chair, I’d stick my foot under the leg of his chair, push up, and tip him backwards. Oh, I got sent to the principal’s office for that one. But then, he didn’t have to keep leaning back, did he?
By 6th grade I was going steady with a sweet quiet boy named Steve who bought me velvet, heart-shaped boxes of chocolates for Valentines and gave me his gold bracelet with his name engraved on it. I wore it proudly until the end of 6th grade and I knew I was going to want to be boyfriend -free in Jr. High.
David-Cassidy As a teen, I crushed on the usual suspects for girls at that time: RobbyBenson David Cassidy and Robby Benson
In my mid-twenties I finally met the perfect man for me and this year we will celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. But I’m married, not dead. I still have crushes. There is a perpetual top five list that I’ve had for years now:
1. Daniel Craig
2. Gerard Butler
3. Russell Crowe
4. Eric Bana
5. Christian Bale
But then, I also have a few Mr. Right Nows. I missed a lot of TV when my kids were little. Don’t get me wrong, I have no regrets. But, now I’m catching up, thanks to my TV viewing buddy, Evelyn Vaughn. Last summer we watched Roswell and I crushed on Jason Behr. In fact, he became the inspiration for my current Blaze hero, Rafe Moreau, in Relentless Seduction-(out this month) But Right Now, these are the men I’ve got a hankerin’ for:
sully Byron Sully (played by actor Joe Lando) I’ve been watching Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman for the first time and– Sully is so sexy, and sweet, and strong, and caring, and…manly.
Another crush I have right now is John Reese (Jim Caviezel) from Person of Interest. I just love a tortured hero, and he epitomizes that. The strong, silent type. He has to lead a secret life, hiding from government agents, feeling as if saving people now might somehow save his soul for all the lives he took when he was in Special Ops. Jim was my inspiration for the hero in my 2012 Blaze, ONCE A HERO… jim_caviezel_03
joe-manganiello-true-blood-regular And last but not least, one of my current crushes is Joe Mangniello (Alcide Herveaux in True Blood) Talk about a tortured hero. Poor Alcide was married to an unfaithful, murderous psycho-addict. And how sexy is it that he is ALWAYS there when Sookie is in danger or just needs him? Joe is the inspiration for my current work and next Blaze about a Firefighter caught in the Wrong Bed on a Caribbean cruise.
Now lest you think I’m some whacko, I’m not alone. My critique partner does this also. Currently, her main man crush is Billy Ray Cyrus. He’s the inspiration for her current Romance in progress, Rocking Horse Cowboys. Whew, he’s a hottie.Dylan

Do YOU have a crush? A Mr. Right Now? Come on, spill! I’ll send some random commenter–before midnight tomorrow–a copy of any Blaze of mine they want.

I’m showing my age again…. Mark Harmon and/or George Clooney make my heart pitter patter. They are MY hunks of burnin’ love.

    • Oooh, Laney! Clooney is a no-brainer, you’re right. Ever since ER, right? And I loved ALL his Ocean’s movies. Mark Harmon I didn’t get into until recently when I finally rented and started watching WEST WING! And then when he was that Agent assigned to protect CJ. YUM!

  2. Katie says:

I saw “Skyfall” ( my first Jsnes Bond with him) and he’s pretty yummy, especially de-carbed. Val Chercowsky from “DWTS” is yummy, too. That’s kind if my type.

Sorry it posted twice . Don’t know why.

  5. Cynthia (aka Artemis) says:

I don’t watch much episodic television, so I’m not very current on the latest who’s who. But I do love sports and the movies. So, in no particular order:

    Joe Mangniello
    Russell Crowe
    Jimmy Johnson
    Jason Aldean

    What an excellent start!!!!! 8)

    • Ooh, Cynthia, Jason Aldean? He’s a cutie , too. but Of that new crop of Country singers, I have to admit, I like Luke Bryan, Mmm, have you seen that music vid of him singing “Do I”?
Of course, I agree with you totally on Joe and Russell, but I don’t know Jimmy. Is he a sports guy? I hopeless at sports. I’ll Google him. Thanks for commenting today!

  6. Colleen says:

Oh through the years, I have had my crushes… I remember in Elementary school keeping pics of my fav actors in a folder. Most recent crush… Stephen Amell from ARROW. :D

    • Hi Colleen,
You know, I’ve seen ads for The Arrow, but not watched it yet. So many TV shows, so Little time! I will definitely check out Stephen Amell now, though. Thanks for the heads up!

  7. Aurora says:

Don’t watch American TV anymore, and there isn’t anyone I’m crushing on that is American. Out of curiosity, how’s Neal the Seal story coming along?

    • Hi Aurora,

Funny you should ask! Neil’s story will be the second in a trilogy, the first one being the one I’m working on now with Joe Mangniello called CABIN FEVER. In CABIN FEVER, there’s a really bad girl supermodel named Piper who gives the hero and heroine a hard time the whole cruise. Piper has a good reason to be so messed up. She has a very tragic childhood growing up in the slums of India. BUT, at the end of Cabin Fever, she hits rock bottom and vows to turn her life around. So, the next book, NIGHT FEVER, which will take place in Miami, Piper is trying very hard to be good. But our hero, Mr Neil the SEAL has been MR. PERFECT his whole life and feels like it has never gotten him anywhere. It certainly didn’t win him the love of Alex.(Night Maneuvers) Or his father, the senator’s approval, ever. So, he’s decided while on leave in Miami to be BAD! And who better to be BAD with than a renowned Bad Girl Supermodel, Piper! So, we have a Bad girl trying to be good and a GOOD guy trying to be bad. It should be lots of fun! The third book will be about another SEAL friend of Neil’s who saves a banker kidnapped in the jungles of Paraguay. It’s called JUNGLE FEVER.

      • Aurora says:

Will they all be released this year or not really? (There go my hopes of having a heroine with my name in it…)

        • I don’t have any info on release dates yet. It’s possible Cabin Fever MIGHT be out at the end of 2013, but my guess is they won’t be out til next year. And I will have to think about a heroine named Aurora. When I hear Aurora, I think of Sleeping Beauty, or George Sands (a 19th century female novelist, Lady Amantine Lucile Aurore Dupin, later Baroness Dudevant, who wrote under a male pseudonym) She is said to have had an affair w/ Chopin!

          • Aurora says:

Thank you :) My real name is Svetlana or Sveta actually hehe. The blonde chick from Night Maneuvers had my name on it. I kind of hoped to have the heroine with the name Sveta in a book. Am looking forward to reading your books whenever they are released :D

          • Ahhh, Sveta! I remember you! Yes, I had that Vegas showgirl in NIGHT MANEUVERS named Svetlana who lived next door to Mitch McCabe. I love the name Sveta, and if I can, I’ll try to name a heroine after you, ok?
            HUGS, girlfriend!

  8. Alina D says:

Hi Jillian! I think we all have a list. Even us happily married women. I loved Roswell and Jason Behr, yeah he’s a hottie.

    My list~
Robert Pattinson- his eyes and his voice and well the rest of him isn’t bad either
    Channing Tatum- yum, just yum
Hugh Jackman- again the voice does it for me. well that and that body, lol!
Colin Farrell- yup you got it, the voice. I have a thing for hotties with accents.
Mark Harmon- that man has always been hot and he seems to just get better with age.
Ian and Paul from Vampire Diaries- To be the girl those two fight over must be such a hard job, lol!

I’m sure there are quiet a few more but those are some of my favorites. Have a wonderful afternoon! :D

    • Ooh, great list Alina!
Robert Pattinson- he IS sexy in the Twilight saga, i think my prob with him is a personal thing, he just seems too young for me-I know you’re a lot younger than me!
Channing Tatum- Ok I have to agree with you on the YUM factor, especially after watching Magic Mike! OMG! Ok, I need a cold shower now. :D
Hugh Jackman- agree, he is super sexy and SO talented! I LOVED him in Australia and of course, in Les Miz
Colin Farrell-Hmm, he is such a Bad Boy! But I agree, accents DO IT for me!
Mark Harmon-Totally agree, he DOES get better with age.
Ian and Paul from Vampire Diaries- I’ve never watched VD. I’ll have to check them out!
Thank you for coming by and leaving your list, Good one!

  9. Pamela Stone says:

All the above. Russel Crowe is amazing. BRC always. Also like Johnny Depp and Brad Pitt. The first crush I remember was Steve McQueen then Paul Newman and Robert Redford. Talk about showing my age. Great blog

    • Mmm, Robert Redford in 3 Days of the Condor! YUM! Johnny and Brad? me, not so much, but that’s good cause I could never compete with you anyway, :p
      Love you, girl!

  10. Oooh, so many guys to inspire us! Juliet, I had a big crush on David Cassidy when I was younger too!

I have to admit to being a Mark Harmon lover. And his Gibbs on NCIS is so yummy.

If you want to see Johnny Depp at his sexiest, check out Don Juan DeMarco and Chocolat…mmmm.

Thanks for sharing your Mr. Right Nows. Now I’m inspired to get back to work on my current hero. :D

    • YES< I agree with Depp and Chocolat! But other than that he doesn't really do it for me. I mean, I like him as an actor, he's just not in my top 5 for making me need a cold shower, ya know? I don't watch NCIS, but I have a feeling I will rent the DVDs someday. Im really picky about not watching a series if I didn't start at the beginning. YES, hrry and finish your WIP, I want to finish reading it! talk about Mr Right! YUM

  11. Kimh says:

    Hot, cavizo,
    Clooney, Leo dicaroipo, Adam Levine,
    Derek jeter , buster posey,

    Go niners
    8) :D :) :D

    • Cynthia (aka Artemis) says:

      Jillian,

      Jimmy Johnson of NASCAR fame.

      http://www.jimmiejohnson.com/

    • hi Kim,
Hmm, I have to admit, I am ignorant of Levine, Jeter, and Posey. I assume they are sports guys? I’ll go look them up. My idea of a cute sports guy is Scott Hamilton, :p
Niners is a sports team? I’m guessing football since this is the season for that.
Clooney, Yummy! DiCaprio, eh, well, I just never got into him. But then, I didn’t like Titanic. I think it was because of the children that died. I have a hard time with that in movies. So, Titanic for me was like watching Schindler’s List: Historically important, but too painful to watch.
Thanks for coming by and letting me about these sports cuties!

  12. bn100 says:

    Bradley Cooper

    • oooh, yes, Cooper-who knew, huh? I thought he was cute and all, but Hangover? NOT my cuppa. Then with this new film, PLaybook? He’s got himself some nominations, wow.

  13. Pamela Stone says:

So many heroes, so little time. Sigh.

  14. Kaelee says:

I may be older but I can still appreciate a good looking man. I don’t watch a lot of TV or movies but I do listen to country music. Over the years I’ve crushed on Gary Allan, Kenny Chesney, Clint Black, Josh Turner and loads of others.

    • Oooh, Kaelee, I LOVE Gary Allan! I thought it was so tragic when his wife died and he was left with –i think -5 kids to raise. For a while after that he got really thin and gaunt looking and I worried about him. But he’s come back now. Such a talented singer/songwriter!
And Josh Turner-oh, that VOICE! nothing sexier than a deep bass voice. And it’s funny cause he doesn’t LOOK like the type guy to have a deep voice like that. Like trace Adkins, he has a deep voice, but then, he’s like 6’5 or around there and a hulk of a guy.
      Thanks for coming by today!

  15. Mary Preston says:

I have a major crush on Hugh Jackman. I mean, he has it all. He’s gorgeous, talented & he can take me dancing.

    I forgot the serenading part.

    • You’re right, Mary. There is no one like Hugh. He can do it all! And It’s so romantic that he is still so in love with his wife! I think that’s what I love about him the most.
      Thanks for commenting and Hugs!

  16. Tammy Yenalavitch says:

Loved your lists, Jillian. I have so many. Gerard Butler, Clive Owen, Johnny Depp, Keanu Reeves, Robert Downey Jr. and Russell Crowe are my top 6

Recent ones – Timothy Olyphant, Damien Lewis, Eion Bailey, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hardy

Hall of Fame has to be Harrion Ford and Daniel Day-Lewis.

  17. Oooh Tammy! What a great list!
I, too, have recently discovered Timothy Olyphant. First, in this romance called CATCH AND RELEASE with Jennifer Garner–oooh, he was a cutie in that, and then in a TV show called Justified. Man, does he look good in a cowboy hat!
And Keanu? Whew! he’s got something special. Loved him in WALK IN THE CLOUDS and SWEET NOVEMBER
Clive Owen was the inspiration for my Alaskan bush pilot in PRIMAL CALLING. And Gerard Butler has inspired both Lt Colonel Ethan Grady, and my pirate, Ewan McGowan, in THE PIRATE’S POSSESSION. -a novella i wrote for Secrets , Vol.28
I’m going to have to look up Damien and Eion, and Tom Hardy. Are they sports guys?
LOVE Mark Ruffalo. Did you see him in that cute little romance with Reese Witherspoon called, JUST LIKE HEAVEN and he was a cutie in 13 GOING ON 30. if I recall correctly, he had a brain tumor, cancerous, I think, just when his career was taking of, and he had to come back and start again after he beat the cancer, AND he does a LOT for charities and stuff. He’s wonderful!
Ok, I could on forever, as guy crazy as I am. Thank you for commenting today!
    HUGS

    • Tammy Yenalavitch says:

      Jill,

Justified is a can’t miss show – love it. And I loved him in Catch and Release. I have 13 going on 30 and Just Like Heaven on DVD, Love Mark in those movies. He also did In the Cut with Meg Ryan . Very sexy role.

Damien Lewis is in Homeland, Tom Ryan was Bane in the last Batman movie, but I liked him in Lawless and This Means War. Eion Bailey is on Once Upon a Time. He plays August Booth. And he was Ben Mercer on Covert Affairs.

And I forgot aboout Josh Brolin. I loved him on The Young Riders.

      • Hey Tammy!
I almost mentioned IN THE CUT, my fave Ruffalo film. SO sexy in that. But it’s not everyone’s cuppa.
Tom Ryan–the guy who is NOT a young Captain Kirk–is the SAME guy who plays BANE in Batman???? Wow, I would never have guessed that. Can’t even picture it. Amazing.
I LOVE ONCE UPON A TIME! But I haven’t looked up the actor’s names in that yet. August Booth…I’m trying to remember him. I’ll have to go look it up now.
Havn’t seen Covert Affairs, but I know I’ll rent it at some point and start at the beginning. SO many TV shows and movies. SO little time..
        Thanks for filling me in!

        • Tammy Yenalavitch says:

August Booth was the stranger who came in on the motorcycle. He is Pinocchio and he was in the cabinet with Emma when she was a baby and he was supposed to watch over her.
