Soft laughter. Quiet conversation. The clink of ice cubes in tall glasses. The 4th of July and family bbqs. The picture is so uniquely American. Yet there is always room for a little ethnic color, isn’t there? Say, a fresh tray of baklava placed just so between the red-white-and-blue frosted cake and hotdogs. Or Greek souvlaki served alongside hamburgers and potato salad. You can find recipes for both dishes at our www.sofiemetro.com site. Just click here if you’d like to add a little Greek flavor to this very American Holiday.
This is also the time of year for kicking back between grilling sessions to indulge in a little summer reading. And boy do we have a couple of options for you there as well! This month, www.eHarlequin.com is offering up a reprint of our Code Red title TOTAL EXPOSURE. Sinclair Reid of Romance Reviews Today had this to say about the original release, “Tori Carrington writes a riveting story with potent characters and an attention grabbing storyline. TOTAL EXPOSURE is…a must read.” Click here for more info and to order the title in both book and ebook format from www.eHarlequin.com.
Wait! That’s not all. This month our August Harlequin Blaze UNBRIDLED is also available from www.eHarlequin.com. Here’s the blurb:
Shamelessly sexy. Totally irresistible…
Carter Southard is cooling his heels in jail when classy attorney Laney Cartwright strides in on her mile-long legs to spring him. Uh-oh. This naughty bad boy’s got even bigger trouble…. Because their attorney-client privilege is about to take a sizzling detour!
The sex is hot and wild—totally unbridled! But scorching the sheets is all this guy from the wrong side of the tracks has in common with an uptown girl…right?
Romantic Times gave it a 4 1/2 star review and says, “A sexy, wonderful hero, a smart, strong heroine and a terribly interesting story combine for a book readers won’t want to put down.”
Click here to read an excerpt and for ordering info.
Finally, on this sizzling 4th, we’d like to offer you a chance to be the first to enter our July on-line drawing for a Rustic Bucket Bath Set! The info is not even up on our website yet. To enter, just send an email to toricarrington2@aol.com with the word “Drawing” in the subject line. That’s it!
Here’s wishing you and yours an explosive holiday weekend! If you have a special memory you’d like to share, or an unusual recipe, we’d love to hear it…

LOL! Ahem. Sorry about the post delay. We finished our latest Blaze (or should I say one of our forthcoming Blazes?), yesterday morning and, well, our brains absolutely refused to cooperate after that. And for the first time in forever we actually slept in this morning! Well, okay, 7:30 probably doesn’t really qualify as sleeping in, but considering we wake up at 6:00 a.m. even on the weekends…well, to us it’s pure luxury.
Happy Birthday, America! Now, time to take the eggs out to bring to room temp so I can make an Angel Food Cake and fresh whipped cream. Blueberries and strawberries are ready and waiting…

Happy 4th!!
The tradition for my grandparents and I is going to see a baseball game if they’re in town because after the game they have a big fireworks show, but this year I’m going to my dad’s overnight picnic. I’m looking forward to it, spending the holiday with my family.
I’m looking forward to Unbridled after reading Branded and enjoying it.
Warm, fuzzy wishes backattcha, Nicole! Sounds like a great weekend. Enjoy the hell out of it, ya hear? And keep those pesky mosquitoes at bay…
Happy 4th wishes
everyone,
all the way from sunny …ok it’s a little cloudy ..
South Africa !!
Bought UNBRIDLED in e-book format, can’t wait to read it !
Going back for TOTAL EXPOSURE right NOW !
Thanks for the cake, Petro! It’s a little cloudy and cool here in Ohio, too. But it’s not going to stop us from completely enjoying ourselves.
Hey guys — this all looks great, the books and the food! You’ve given me ideas for a cookout I’m having next Friday. A question, do you have a recipe for home made pita? The ones at the store are always so ick. If so, can you drop me a note at samhunter@samanthahunter.com?
Thanks!
Sam
Nope, Sam, no recipe for homemade pita. (Funny you should ask, thou! We flicked to Drive-in’s, Diners & Dives during a commercial last night and a cook was making – frying – thick tortillas that looked like pitas! Didn’t catch the ingredients, thou. And I certainly wouldn’t fry ‘em.)
What you can do to freshen up the store bought stuff is lightly brush both sides with olive oil (plain virgin is okay), sprinkle them with Greek oregano and crisp them up slightly on the grill right before serving. Makes them far more appetizing.
Do you make tzatziki aka cucumber-garlic sauce? I love just dipping warmed pita wedges straight into it like a dip. Yum! Of course, everyone needs to eat it or you’ll have a lot of people backing away from your monster garlic breath. lol
I do make tzatziki sauce, yes — we like to have chicken with that and the cucumber, tomato salad, and sometimes falafel.
I’m definitely trying out the baklava…
Thanks for the tip on the pitas! I may look for a recipe, and I’ll let you know…
Sam
Last night I started my pinto beans cooking in the slow cooker overnight and they smell and taste pretty good if I do say so myself!
Thank God my mom is making the potato salad be cause this is one thing I NEVER learned to make! Whenever I make it, my family groans
and says “OH GOD she made potato salad again! Dad Do we have to eat it? LOL
I know my limitations and potato salad falls right in there! Not going to torcher the family this year!
LOL
Happy fourth all!
Fav 4th memory–our wedding!
Just back from a ride in Lucille (my ‘99 candy apple red, drop top Mustand GT) and Etta James is still whispering in my year. Ah, yes…
Thumbs up, Sam. Plz do let me know if you find a recipe. We have a great place here where we get a good brand of pita fresh, but if it’s easy I might try to make ‘em. Then again, I’m more of a sweets baker. Although the baklava is all Tony.
Awww, Heather. Happy anniversary, sweetie! Our anniversary is July 2nd. Twenty-two years of wedded bliss. You?
xoxo

Happy Anniversary Heather and T & L !!
Hi, Lori & Tony, Happy 4th, & belated happy 22nd! Already ordered UNBRIDLED from eHq. (still to be delivered) Glad to hear it’s a return to an “attorney” storyline. As you may remember, loved the “Legal Brief” mini. Really appreciate Hq.’s “Upcoming Books” procedure (actually, suggested it several times before it was implemented); love that you can pay by check after receiving books.
Am looking forward to all your Blazes working through the system.
Be well & hugs to you both,
Patricia
omg , I can’t wait to read UNBRIDLED! That cover is delish!
Happy 4th Y’all. Glad you got to “sleep in”.
congrats on the books
and great reviews
