Candy,

First, I love your new cover!! Very cool. Or, rather, very hot. :)

I love to dress up. I have all these sides to my personality that I usually try to keep in check, but when I'm in costume they can come to the fore.

I was the Bride of Frankenstein one year -- made a white gauze drapey thing, wore long red nails, wrapped my arms in bandages, whitened my face, crimped my hair to within an inch of its life and sprayed it straight out ... even used baby powder to make a streak. I was in college, so I had to make the costume for like $5. (Thankfully, this was the 80s, so everyone and his dog had a crimping iron.)

Still, it was cool, and I loved walking around all crazy-eyed. Because I *want* to walk around crazy-eyed many days of the year, but Halloween is the only one where I can get away with it. ;)

I Love the cover, Candy! I Love that she's on top, taking control. Just as it should be.

As far as costumes, a couple of years ago I went to a party and dressed as a garden ho. So funny. I had on a teddy and covered that with a gardening smock. I also wore one of those long black flowy robes (so no one could see my girly bits) and fuzzy shoes. All night long people asked me what I was dress as, and then laughed their heads off when I told them. *grin*

I like costumes, but strangely, in my adult life I've not had much opportunity to pull one off the rack. (School Dress up Days with a wand and a Harry Potter track jacket don't really count, do they?)

Anyhoo, I keep thinking it would be fun to dress up alongside my kiddo. Maybe Conor and I could be McCartney and Lennon. Sans Yoko, of course. ;-)

Here's an article about the most popular Halloween costumes this year, according to CNN:

http://money.cnn.com/2009/10/02/news/economy/halloween_costumes/

One of the hottest trends this Halloween is dressing up like a recently-deceased celebrity. It's cute for a kid to pretend to be David Carradine, Farrah Fawcett, Heath Ledger, or Patrick Swayze. But Michael Jackson? :-O

I don't do anything myself for Halloween but I enjoy seeing what my grandkids will be wearing. My 6 year old grandson is going to be a pirate this year and my 4 year old granddaughter is going to be a princess. My daughter finds the cutest costumes at TJ Maxx at resonable prices. My 6 month old granddaughter is just wearing a zip up sack with ears on the hood. She isn't supposed to get around people anyway so we will probably just take her picture in it and thats all. She spent 4 months in the NICU so she won't be able to get around a lot of people for at least a year. So her first Halloween will be pretty quiet.
