My first few Blazes fit into the line as it was defined. Relationship stories with a sexy premise. But, as inevitably happens, the authors who write for the line have defined it because creativity knows no bounds.
I started off with relationship stories that progressed slowly toward what I want to write now—action/adventure and romantic suspense. My first book in my Undercover Lovers series, Up Close and Dangerously Sexy started me on the path towards that goal. Now Dangerous Curves, the second book in the series, releases this month.

In Dangerous Curves, DEA Agent Rio Marshall has one mission. Distract Max Carpenter. She’s told that he is the very fly in the ointment that can blow a deep undercover operative’s carefully designed disguise. She’s been hired to keep him occupied any way she can and Rio has always gone to the max to complete every assigned mission. Max Carpenter doesn’t stand a chance of surviving her special brand of expertly concealed weapons. Max believes she is the only living being to have seen The Ghost’s face, a dangerous arms dealer, turning her into a moving target. Determined to save her, Max follows orders, until someone comes gunning for Rio and they are on the run.
The last book in the series, Deliciously Dangerous is out in April 2010. Now let me hear from you. Do you like to read all the books in a series at that same time and will wait until they’re all released or do you like the torture of waiting for the next book? I will give away to one poster an autographed copy of Dangerous Curves.

Well, I’ve done it both ways. I have been known to save them to read until I have them all , but if they are coming out back to back I will usually go ahead and read them. It just depends on my mood at the time. I really prefer to get them all and then sit and read them one after the other. Sometimes it doesn’t work out that way though. I love series books though, always have.
I too love to read a series one after the other and I’ve done it both ways as well. But I know when I’m waiting for the next book in the series, it’s sheer torture.
I do not wait to read them… When I am in the mood, I jump right into a book! Once I have them all, I will revisit and reread them all in order. One thing I really hate though is when I miss one…
I hear you. I go to the author’s website to make sure I read them in order.
I’m another person who has done it both ways…sometimes if they come out close together I’ll read them as they come out…but of course you can’t always tell.
I love reading books in a series and will impatiently wait for each installment to come out. Alot of times, in anticipation of the new book coming out, I’ll re-read all the previous books in the series.
I LOVE continuous or tied together stories. It’s always fun to read them in back to back release, but understand that isn’t always feasible. So I save them (like I do with all my Blaze books hence the size of my book shelf (H) ) and then refresh myself on the storyline.
Hi! This is a no-brainer for me.
I want the entire series on hand to read one after the other while they’re fresh in my mind. (I’m often called Fifty and Forgetful, whereas my BFF is Fifty and Fabulous — I think I got the short end of the stick on that one!) Anyway, I’m kind of anal about this in that when I get to the second book, I will refer back several times to the first book, and so on and so forth. Most people would wonder why, but I like to re-read and confirm details, shake my head in agreement, etc.
In the olden days, I would pass on my books as soon as I’d finished reading them (to my BFF’s). With a series, though, I can’t do that until the entire series has been completed. I’d just HATE to have to buy a second book just to satisfy my curiosity! It sure makes for big piles of books “just waiting there”, but I am worth it, ha ha!
I hope you’re all having a great day.
I prefer to get all the books and then read them at the same time. This strategy works well if the books are being released back to back. Sometimes I can’t wait and read the first book knowing I’ll have to wait a while for the next book.
Oh, I can’t wait.
I read as I get the books.
I read the books as soon as I get them, then I go crazy waiting for the next one in the series to come out. But I do what Laney does I keep all series until it’s over than pass them along. Because if I forget something I can go back and check it.
I enjoy reading series and I usually read them as they are released!
I love series books.
And when I read them, it depends — if there is a triology or something that is being released one book every month for three months as an example, then I wait until get them all. If it’s a more usual once or twice a year, then I would read it when it comes out, and reread when I get the new one. If I liked it enough the first time, I sure don’t mind rereading it to refresh my memory!

I wish I had the patience to wait, but I don’t. I read them as I get them, then re-read the earlier ones to refresh my memory. But while I do that with books, I prefer to watch tv series on DVD and watch the season straight through.
Love your books, Karen!
I do a little of both, but I have to admit that I don’t like the torture. That’s why I rarely read first chapters at the end of books for a new book that I’m gonna have to wait on, plus I’ll just have to read it again when I get ahold of that book. Does that make sense? lol

Hey Karen, sorry for chiming in so late…I already picked up Dangerous Curves. I already read Up, Close and Dangerously Sexy, but I might want to re-read it, just to get the feel of the Agency again….okay you got me…I just want to revisit some old characters. I hope that everyone had a wonderful day today. I am tres busy this weekend, or I would have loved to have stuck around to chat with you all today. I really miss the summer, especially when we are getting hit with snow in the second week of October.
Peace and love,
Paula R.
I usually read the books as they’re released. It’s torture sometimes, but I don’t think I have the patience to wait until all the books in a series are released before starting them.
I enjoyed the 0-60 series! The HUSH series awhile back. It doesn’t have to be a series for me. I like the whole Blaze line.

Hi Karen,
Yes, I love series books! Stand-alone books are a lot of fun too but there is something about a series that I just love! The familiarity with the characters, the back stories, gossip between parties involved, the blending of the story lines, etc. just grabs me, hook, line and sinker!
Sorry that I am showing up so late! I hope you had a great week!
Congrats on your new book, DANGEROUS CURVES! What a hot cover!
