I recently finished writing a book for the “Forbidden Fantasies” series in Blaze. It’s about a couple hooking up in a different city each month to engage in some very naughty role-playing games. Very fun story…(wanna see the cover? It’s here: )

Anyway, getting involved in this particular miniseries got me thinking about all the other great series that have been done in the Blaze line. I’ve been extremely lucky to get to be part of the Bad Girls Club, the “Dark & Stormy Night” gothic Blaze trilogy, the Wrong Bed miniseries (my favorite in Temptation, too!) and now Forbidden Fantasies. But there are so many more that I love to read. (The historicals are a particular fave, I just wish I had the talent to write one myself.)
Anyway, I was curious about what everybody else thinks. What miniseries do/did you really love in Blaze? Any one-shot ones that you’d like to see revived, or any that you think are just about played out? Do you like having “themed” books each month, or do you prefer not to see that little red dot that says this book is part of a particular series so you go into it with no expectations?
Curious minds…
Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

I love series books. I can honestly say that I’ve enjoyed all the Blaze and Temptations series books. I particularly think the Wrong Bed series could go on forever. I think it’s nice on any of them to bring out new books in the series so we can see what our old friends are up to.
I really enjoy the series books. I’ve really enjoyed Uniformly Hot and Encounters. I like the historical ones as well.
I enjoy series books no matter what line they are for. The one I remember in the Blaze line really liking is The Martini Dares. There were four of them each by a different author.
I like the Encounters and Uniformly Hot series.
I like books that are either in a series or carry the same theme. Gives the books a bit of connection even if they are written by different authors.
Hey Les, I really LOVE THEM ALL!!!! I love the Wrong Bed ones a lot, the Bad Girls Club was rocking…love Kimberley Raye’s vampire series as well. Stephanie Bond’s series is cool too…I love the idea of getting a letter 10 years later and trying to fulfill the fantasy. That sounds awesome…makes me wonder if I would ever have the guts to try and fulfill them. Love the topic you chose Les. There are still some that I haven’t really gotten a chance to really immerse myself into another one yet. I am trying to catch up…I can’t wait to get my hands on this Leslie Kelly book…I am seriously going through withdrawals. LOVE YOU!!!! See you in the jungle.
Peace and love,

Please let me have a mini-rant for a moment about mini-series.
I don’t mind a mini-series set around a particular type of meet. Wrong Beds, Bachelor Auctions, High-Class Stewardess Hookers … something like that. Where the author gets to craft her own world and create her own characters, but has to adhere to whatever twist is slapped on the cover. Love ‘em. There’s a chance for creativity to fly. How many ways can authors turn a one-night stand into a long-term lovefest?
However, the mini-series that are based on some random mystery that takes ten books to solve, or based on a neighborhood of characters who are all written by different authors deliver, almost uniformly, bad reading. It’s not the authors, usually, it’s the set-up.
Authors breathe life into their characters through their own voice. It’s almost impossible for an author to make someone else’s character alive and real and honest. Then there’s the parade of couples that have to be introduced and explained in each book of the series–and 98% of the time, this parade has nothing to do with the story being told.
And worse, the mystery or whatever is supposed to be holding the stories together is usually watered down enough that it’s so peripheral to the main story as to not matter. But it’s shoved in there anyway, so the reader is dragged into a mystery that isn’t even solved at the end of the book.
On the other hand… I totally dig a mini-series (or even long-serier) written by a single author. I’m reading about a dozen of those series right now.
So, to sum up, it depends on what kind of mini-series you’re talking about, and how it’s developed.
wow congrats
very hot cant wait
anytihing for me love blaze
congrats whoooooooooo (Y) (W) (H) (F)
Loved THE BAD GIRLS CLUB: it’s my fave mini of all time. Recently, have really enjoyed the Uniformly Hot series.
I, like most peeps here, am really enjoying the ‘Uniformly Hot’ series, but this year, I also enjoyed the ‘Dressed To Thrill’ series as well.
I enjoy the series written by the same author better tho….
I loved the two installments of ‘Wrong Bed’ mini series you did Leslie, and I loved Sarah Mayberry’s Soapstars series, (But that’s no secret!) and Kate Hoffmans ‘Mighty QUinn’s’ are mighty fine and Kathleen O’Reilly’s ‘Red Choo Diaries’ and ‘Sexy Sullivan’s’ series are among my DIK’s. I just love Blazes. How sad am I?
I think the series I liked the most was 0-60, probably because it was based around racing and cars (We don’t get the NASCAR line in New Zealand). I would prefer to wait for all the titles to be released before beginning to read a mini-series but it takes so long for many titles to come out here, its often easier to read them as they come out and then re-read the earlier ones before reading the next one.
I haven’t been reading Blazes for long enough to know if there are any miniseries I would want to see again.
Often, I like that label that says the book is part of a themed grouping, but sometimes its nice to have a stand-alone book to read.
