I did NaNo back in 2004 and wrote 175 pages in one month, lightening speed for me. I stayed up way too late and blasted through a good chunk of a single title. Although it didn't sell, I've used parts for other books.

Here's one of my favorite crockpot recipes.

1-2 lbs Italian Sausage, sliced into 1-2 inch links, browned
1-2 jars Spaghetti sauce
1-2 sweet onions, sliced
1-2 green peppers, sliced

Mix in crock pot, cook for several hours until sausage is tender, serve over pasta or on rolls for Italian sausage sandwiches. Easy and excellent!

Last year, life got in the way of NaNo. I'm hoping this year that won't happen because I'd love to learn to turn off my internal editor and I think this will help.

As far a crock-pot stuff...

1 3-4 pound chuck roast
4 med. redskin potatoes, scrubbed and quartered
2 huge vidalia onions, peeled, crown "just" removed and quartered crown to end
1 can beef broth
2 bay leaves
Lawry's season salt.

Layer the potatoes and onions on the bottom of the crock pot, place the roast on top, pour the broth over all, sprinkle with Lawry's. Cover and cook on high 8-10 hours. The roast will fall apart.

Save the broth, leftover potatoes, onions and meat. Two days later (or three, just so you don't get tired of it) saute 1 pound sliced mushrooms in a dutch oven. Add two toes garlic minced and sweat for a minute, add saved roast, et. al. along with a cup of water, cover and bake for an hour at 350. Makes a nice stew/soup with hard bread. Quick, easy, you can make it in the morning and set the oven timer so it comes on late in the day and you've gotten it out of the way. :)

Those are going to be once a week meals in this house for the month of November. Whether my family wants to eat it or not! :-P
