I tend to clean the house, and that pile of clothes needs washing. Oh yeah, I forgot I needed to scrub the floors and dust the ceiling fans, and the list goes on and on. HAHA! I can dream about something and work it out. But for me the key is to write a little bit everyday. If I keep going through the problems, then I figure them out and later I can go back and fix them. :) We all do this, some just more than others. I usually find, like you, that walking away -- and if it's really bad, even taking a few days away -- will usually relax my brain and bring the answer to the surface, much more so than if I sat there staring at the screen. And other things get done in the process, which is also nice. So that's not procrastination, that's just being in the writing process, and doing what you need to to get the writing done. :) Procrastination is what I am doing now, writing this blog post... so off to do edits.
