Happy Halloween!!
This is my inaugural blog as an official Blaze Blogger, and what a great day to start out! I remember the anticipation of Halloween when I was a kid–deciding what costume to wear, planning out the trick or treating route to maximize candy “gettage”, running from house to house, then lugging all my loot home and going through it with my parents (trying to keep my dad from eating all the Mr. Goodbars, my mom from swiping all the Almond Joys, and my sister from “borrowing” anything at all!) The competition was huge among the neighborhood kids to end up with the heaviest, biggest bag of candy, then to compare notes the next day as to what your haul was. My favorite Halloween memory was the year I dressed up as a princess. I wore this full chiffon skirt from my “dress-up” pile. I lived in NY, so I had to wear a coat (kinda wrecked the whole outfit), but I still felt like royalty. And my worst Halloween was the year I was in 3rd grade–I was sick and couldn’t go trick or treating!! HUGE disappointment (I’m still not over it, LOL!)
So what are your favorite Halloween memories/traditions? Did you ever have to skip the fun? (I hope not!!) What was your favorite Halloween candy to score?
Wishing you a Blazingly fun (and safe!) Halloween!

:-[ I loved Halloween as a kid. We mostly lived out in the country and NONE of the nearby neighbors participated in the holiday so my mother would take us into town to Trick or Treat. I loved anything chocolate. I had to be careful not to let my younger brother or older sister steal my loot. They were always better at hiding their candy than me and so theirs lasted longer because they were busy pilfering mine. LOL

My favorite memory wasn’t as a child though (to be honest, I cant remember a single costume. Is that sad or what?) I was a teenager and I dressed up as a FFA (Future Farmers of America) Officer, which I was, so I had the “Uniform” and took my niece trick or treating. She was a Princess (and only two at the time). A friend went with me and dressed as a member of the New Deal High School Band (which both of us were and had the uniform and instruments so it wasn’t a hard costume to come up with) We had such fun that year. You don’t have to be a kid to enjoy the whole thing… LOL ;-)

Happy Halloween all :-[ Have a great and safe night! :-$

    Happy Halloween!!

I like dressing up for Halloween and passing out the candy. I love seeing the little ones dressed up. And watching the Halloween specials.

When I was young we lived in a small town and we used to walk all over town and get candy and home made treats. That was back in the day when you could trust people to give you nothing that would hurt you. My favorites were always the caramaled apples and popcorn balls. Chocolate isn’t bad either.

Hi Jacquie, it is great to have you here, and congrats on your debut. Sorry I missed the post, but I wanted to say hello. I didn’t really dress up and trick or treat, so no fave memories to share there. Nowadays, I just buy the candy I want and eat em whenever I want, which helps me to not miss out, so to speak. I hope that you had a wonderful time this Halloween; it sounds like you wouldn’t miss it for the world. What was your costume this year?

    Peace and love,
    Paula R.
