Party Down

Admittedly, I am always the one whose ears perk up when the word “party” is mentioned. I’m not so fond, as in I HATE, a huge annonymous soire but give me a group of good friends getting together to celebrate and I’m all over it.
So, I had this blog planned around Christmas trees — as in real vs. artificial trees. The bottom line is that I’ve never had an artificial tree. Most of the people I know have artifical trees — nuthin’ wrong with that. I’m just a hold-out. Hey, I figure someone’s got to keep the tree farmers in business. I like me a real tree — and yes, I do recycle it to the mulch pile afterwards.
Anywho, I had this blog planned but then something truly exciting and party-worthy happened — Romantic Times announced their nominees for Best Blaze of 2009!!! Hel-lo. Being the Blaze blog, how could we possibly bypass this opportunity to celebrate the nominees and party down?
So, the champagne fountain is flowing, the martini bar is open and chocolate-dipped fruit is available to all. Pick your toast of choice and join me in saluting the RT nominated Blaze Babes (y’all do us proud!):
A LONG, HARD RIDE
Alison Kent (Mar.)
MAKE ME YOURS
Betina Krahn (Jul.)
SHE’S GOT IT BAD
Sarah Mayberry (Apr.)
LETTERS FROM HOME
Rhonda Nelson (Jun.)
HOT UNDER PRESSURE
Kathleen O’Reilly (Aug.)
And a special toast to Blaze Babe Leslie Kelly for her RT Lifetime Achievement Nomination.
So, join me in the party and in offering congratulations! (And hey, I’m still interested in whether you do a real tree or not
)

Congrats to all the nominees. That is great news!
As to real vs artificial… I have to go with artificial only because the hubby is allergic to the real ones. We tried it like three years in a row with different types of real ones and every year he broke out in a horrible rash where the tree touched him and his nose ran non stop till the tree was gone… Sad but true/ So the real ones although very pretty have been banned from our house. I miss the smell the most.
Big congrats to you all !!
I realize there is one of those books I haven’t read yet…hmmm, I’ll have to remedy to that
Congrats to you all. I have read and loved all of those books!
As for trees, growing up we always did real trees every year we would go to the christmas tree lot and pick out the perfect tree. Then I got married. Out first year we did a real tree and it was a disaster. The thing died and it was just aweful. The next year we went out and bought our first fake tree. Yes I really miss the smell, but the fake one is just so much easier. I know Im a sell out, lol!
Have a wonderful holiday season!
Congratulations to everyone!!!!!!!!
Congrats to you rockin’ Blaze Babes!
Congrats to all the nominees and thanks to Jen for the party. I’m closing in on the end of a story, so cyber alcohol is out, but something sweet will do. A chocolate covered strawberry, I think.
As for the tree, we opted for a real tree this year. It smells heavenly and is just beautiful. Unfortunately, the lower branches are high off the floor and, though I think I’ve got a respectable amount of presents under there, it sure doesn’t look like it. (Which my daughter is quick to point out.
)
Congratulations to all the nominees! Blaze Babes rock!
Party on!
We do a real tree and the township recycles it. Congratulations to all the nominees!
Cheers to all our awesome nominees!!
You do us proud. And cheers to RT for sponsoring the awards. I think it’s great that they recognize outstanding books and authors year after year. Yay!!
And Jen, I tried an artificial one year, but I missed the tree cutting tradition and that amazing scent of pine in my house. Plus, I like to support our local tree farmers who are good about replanting and making the outing so fun. As a farmer’s daughter, I have a soft spot for those farmers
.
A big congrats to all of the nominees! WTG BLAZE authors!
Congratulations to all!! That’s great news ladies!
I’ve always had a real tree until 2 years ago when Hubby talked me into the fake kind. I miss my real tree and the smell of a live tree is something you can’t purchase at WalMart. Trust me..I’ve tried. Maybe I could get a little bitty one this year to put in my office. Which BTW, was very neat and clean until a few weeks ago when it turned into Christmas Central!
i read those books love them blazes books
yeaaaaa
yea ladies
WHOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO and Congratulations, ladies!!!! I’m so excited for you.
Congrats Ladies!! Some really great books listed there!
I have an artificial tree. I love it because it’s a perfect height for me to decorate. I can put it up when I want and keep it up as long as I want. Plus no watering. And I know if it will fit in the hallway and how many ornaments it’ll hold. I must confess I do miss the pine scent though that the real tree has.
Congrats to the nominees.
Thanks for throwing this shindig, Jen! I’m very excited and honored, and so happy for all the fabulous Blaze novels nominated this year!
As for trees–I am real-all-the-way. Problem is, I made the mistake of clicking on a video news story on the Internet the other day, about a Florida couple who put up their Christmas tree, were decorating it, and found a SNAKE inside!
OMG. I would DIE. Snakes are my # 1 phobia.
One slither and I’d be at Wal Mart buying a fake tree before you could say Rikki Tikki Tavi!
Hope everyone enjoyed the party today. Me, I was busy having myself a little revision party. Oh, yeah. Those revisions are always a party.
Hmmm, as it stands now, it’s a 50-50 split on real vs. artificial Christmas trees. I guess we’re a well-rounded bunch here.
Congratulations to all of you. I think you are all winners. Love those Blazes.
