I did go on a first date to a baseball game. It was great because there wasn’t a lot of pressure, we were both baseball fans so we had a lot of common ground. It was a lot easier to relax and enjoy ourselves.

I chose dinner and a movie, because it will give us a chance to talk and get to know each other. I think that Nicole’s first date of going to a baseball game is a good one too, since they both like the sport.

    Peace and love,
    Paula R.

    (I) I think the perfect first date would be a picnic in the park. You have people around for security – but not so much that they are in your space. You get to share a meal and chatter, see if he is a gentleman ( like carries the basket, spreads out the mat, helps you sit if needed etc, but best of all you get to check him out in a natural surrounding, where mood music, lights and mod cons don’t help emotion along. Its just the two of you and you can really get to know each other one on one.

And having said that… I don’t even remember my first date with my hubby… :-D

    Bye 4 now

Since I’ve been happily married for more years then I want to share, I will share what I think was my perfect first date. It was strange. My first date (now my husband) and I were both working night shift at a hotel, me at the front desk, he was the chef in the restaurant. So places were limited at 11:45 at night. Instead of the normal, pub or restaurant, we went to the airport. Yup the airport. Walked around the airport with coffee in hand and decided on all the places we would like to visit. Then when it was time to go home, we danced in the parking lot. And the rest is history. So for me that was the perfect first date. 10 years, 2 kids and a lifetime love. :)

Jenn, what a great date. And your story supports my answer of “other” as I think a first date should be unique to the couple. Why not do something that reflects a shared interest, be it a volleyball tournament on the beach or meeting up for frozen yogurt and a walk in the park at lunch time? Plus doing something different makes it all the more memorable, which is nice (*) .

Oh wow, I love all these great ideas! Jenn, that is so awesomely romantic, too. The Airport?! *sigh* Fab!!!
