I’ve become spoiled when it comes to television. Lately I’ve just been watching shows on DVD and I’m finding it way more fun than having to wait every week to watch a new episode on television. Over the summer I marathoned Freaks and Geeks, House and now 24 (which is so awesome!) I’m already on season 4 of 24 and it’s only been a month since I started LOL! (BTW—nobody say a single thing about 24, I’m trying desperately to avoid spoilers and all mention of the show)
There are only three shows I still watch on television–LOST, The Office and Supernatural. But LOST is ending this year and so is Supernatural, so then I’ll be down to one. Which means I need a new show. But I’m thinking I’d just rather watch a show that’s already out on DVD, only I’m all out of ideas.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I tried getting into that new show Flash Forward, but it was so complicated, and I realized I can’t strain my brain for another show considering I’m already hooked on LOST, the most complicated show on the planet.
So yeah, I need some ideas. What’s your favourite show? How do you feel about TV on DVD? Isn’t it so much better?!

Actually, Supernatural just got renewed for next year. So you don’t have to say goodbye yet. I recommend Dexter, True Blood, or Mad Men. They’re all so well-written.
FRINGE and HOUSE
The only TV on DVD that I’ve sprung for is Moonlight and Fringe.
Liz, is Fringe really good? I love Joshua Jackson, and I watched the pilot, but I couldn’t get into it. I know most pilots are pretty bad, but then I kinda forgot about the show. Is it worth giving another shot?
And what is so good about Mad Men? I always hear people raving about it but I’m embarassed to say I don’t even know what it’s about. Details?
Yes, Fringe is awesome and I agree about the pilot but it gets sooooo much better. Joshua Jackson is great in it and as is the actor who plays his Dad. Had to warm up to the woman FBI agent but I eventually did.
Never watched Mad Men
Elle,
I’m with you, If I don’t watch on DVD, I save up 5 or 6 eps and watch one right after the other. I would recommend watching Mad Men that way, the story flows better. I love Mad Men, Agree with Joder, Also I watch Supernatural and it will be back for one more year at least. Hubby and I like “Lie to Me”. Also the original CSI, still the best.
Got the Sopranos on DVD, if you haven’t seen that, also recommended. (C)
Jody and Karyn, I just found out about Supernatural being renewed from a friend. On one hand I’m excited (more Sam and Dean!!!) but on the other hand, I’ve been disappointed by the past bunch of episodes. It seems like they keep airing “funny” ones instead of progressing the awesome plot they built up. And Castiel has barely been in any episodes for more than 5 minutes!! I love him, so that is upsetting. but he was featured prominently in the V-Day episode, so I’m happy again
Burn Notice is great, action packed with good character development.
Psych is hilarious, light-hearted, witty and always entertaining.
Leverage is well written, cool and just plain fun to watch.
Mad Men is good too, it’s set in the 1960′s on Madison Avenue at an advert agency, it’s extremely well written, has won a ton of Emmy’s, and visually is one of the best shows on TV. The plot is pretty complicated, a lot of twists and turns.
Criminal Minds is my opinion, flat out excellent. It’s really interesting to see how a lot of those freaks work, and watching them build a profile is really interesting. Some of the stuff can be a little hard to stomach, serial rapists and all that.
Hope i helped.
We have a few shows we never miss. First is NCIS, Mark Harmon is still a hottie! We have been addicted to it since it started. Next is The Mentalist. Patrick Jane is one of the funnist and sexiest characters! Then there’s Num3ers. I love Charlie and Don! ANd the last one we never miss is Legend Of The Seeker. Its based on Terry Goodkinds Sword of Truth books which are awesome books. The show takes some twists and turns that are off from the books, but I still love it. There are a couple of other shows we watch sometimes, but those 4 we never miss! (*)
i always watch the tv program Criminal Minds it is quite interesting”‘*
