Do I have your attention? Good. Because I’m not talking about what you think I am. No. Instead, I’m addressing the commitment that may exist between you and your reading choices. Are you married to a certain genre? Devoted to a specific line? Since this is the Blaze Authors blog, it’s a pretty good bet that you’re a series reader. But are you faithful to only Blaze? Or do you stray every now and again and sample other genres? Pick the enticing novels up in shadowy bookstores, fondle them, hold them close, inhale their stories like a musky, forbidden scent?

I guess what I’m really asking is have you considered cheating on Blaze with our girl Sofie Metropolis?

Now available in paperback!

Now available in paperback!

Sofie is our sassy Greek-American series character, budding P.I. and Queens girl. She’s starred in several of books so far, with the fourth title, WORKING STIFF, now available everywhere in paperback. She has a wacky Greek family; a sometimes insufferable but always adorable male Jack Russell terrier named Muffy who is both her roommate and sidekick; and so far she’s gotten herself into more trouble than she can get out of…especially in the love department with the presence of two men in her life that tempt and frustrate her no end: the hot, mysterious bounty hunter Jake Porter, and the sexy, mouthwatering Greek baker Dino Antonopoulos.

If you enjoy our Blazes, I’d like to encourage you to give Sofie Metropolis a try. At the very least, she’ll keep you entertained between our steamier titles. At most…well, she just may persuade you to expand your reading interests and turn your single act of infidelity into a full-blown affair!

Come on: take a walk on the wild side – Greek style!

To make things a little more interesting, we’re offering up copies of the first three titles in the series – SOFIE METROPOLIS, DIRTY LAUNDRY and FOUL PLAY – to one lucky poster at day’s end. All you need do to qualify is say ‘hi!’ Good luck!

Good Morning Lori and Tony!!! (C)

I read all six blaze books that come out every month, but I also read from some other lines, like American Romance and Desire. Also I will read anything certain authors write. I admit I havent read any of the Sofie books yet, but they are on my very long list of books to read. So I guess Im more faithful to the authors then the lines, lol! Well Im going to be picking up “Working Stiff” today when I go out. I wont read it till I get the other three first, but I will have it. Hope you guys have a great day! (*)

    • Warm greetings backattcha, Alina! If you like our Blazes, it’s a pretty good bet you’ll enjoy our Sofie series. Of course, the voice is the same. And while romance is not the sole focus, there’s plenty of heat in the books…along with two very yummy heroes! ;-)

  2. Jan Mardis says:

I haven’t read any of the Sofie books, but I am willing to try anything once!LOL

  3. Amygdalia says:

For me it was the other way around. A devout reader of mysteries, I found Sofie first. What? A Greek-American protagonist who shared my daughter’s name!? And I was hooked. I read my first Blaze after winning an autographed copy at one of your chats. :-D

  4. ev says:

I read what ever strikes my fancy and appeals to me. That way i don’t feel like I am cheating on anyone- just opening up my circle of friendship!! (H)

    • Great way to put it, Ev! That’s pretty much the say I read. I let my fingers do the walking over book spines and then pull out one that catches my attention. Keep things interesting!

  5. Paula R. says:

Good morning Lori, love the “hook” to the blog…love the title too. LOL!!!! I cheat all the time. Yep, I admit it…Hi my name is Paula R. and I am unfaitful!!! I love words, so I will read just about anything. Nowadays, I can pretty much say in any genre: Blazes, paras (weres, lycons, vamps), mystery and suspense, thrillers, Victorian Lit, Contemporaries, Chicklit…ahem Women’s Fiction, Girlfriend books, you name it, I read it. You see, I am an equal opportunity book reader. I am married to my romances, but if there is anything out there with a hint of it, I am jumping on it.

I feel like I have been waiting all day to see what you were gonna put up. LOL!!

You know you really wanna pick me for the book prize, right? I am just saying…might as well be a shameless hussy, if I am already unfaithful! I will even pimp myself out if that’s what it takes…Hahahahahaha!!! Filakia, Lori mou!

    Peace and love,
    Paula R.

    • LOL! Excellent, Paula! Sounds like we should start a group, doesn’t it?

Oh, and please don’t be shy! TOO FUNNY!!!

Love ya back, koukla mou! (My doll.)

      • Paula R. says:

You are right, the posts are flying. We should defo start a group btw. I am shy in “real” life, but give me a computer and it’s all over. Plus, I figured I could get away with it since we are on the Blazin’ website….LOL!!!

        I am learning Greek..hehehehehe!

        Peace and love,
        Paula R.

    • Amygdalia says:

Paula, have you ever read Jeri Smith-Ready’s WVMP series?? Vampires & rock ‘n roll! She’a an awesome writer, and a friend of mine. :-)

      • Paula R. says:

Oh, I have her on my radar too…sehw as at the plotmonkeys last week, and I won two books. I am just waiting patiently for them to arrive, Amy! I was so excited because I really wanted to win, because the premise of her story was good, and her blogger voice was awesome. She is witty, and I get the feeling that her wittiness will come through in her books too. Thanks for the recommendation!

        Peace and love,
        Paula R.

        • Amygdaliia says:

Congrats on winning Jeri’s books, Paula! I’m sure you’ll love them! I love her writing style – she’s just as witty in her stories! She’s also a sweet & wonderful person.

          Amy :-)

  6. Lisa rushing says:

I LOVE the Sofie books! I just got done re-reading them all, so that when the new one comes out, I’ll be ready to go :) YAY Can’t wait! (F)

  7. Tammy Yenalavitch says:

    Hi Lori and Tony,
Well I guess I am unfaithful too. I love reading all kinds of book, but Blaze is still my favorite line!

    Hugs,
    Tammy

  8. I thought going in that Blaze knew we’d have to have an open relationship. *G*

I love mysteries, paranormals, UF, single titles, and while I read a Super, Nocturne, or Presents now and again, Blaze is my main category reading, but my overall reading leans heavily to mainstream genre fiction. So Sophie is right in line for me. :) Thanks for the reminder, as I have been meaning to add one of these to the Kindle TBR for some time now… :)

    Sam

  9. Patricia says:

Hi, Lori & Tony, As you may remember from earlier posts I just don’t have time to read outside my Blaze, HSR, SSE & fave ST authors who write Contemps (or, occasionally, Historicals), which I almost always buy by author. I always have 100 or so waiting on my TBR list. It’s not as if I COULDN’T enjoy other lines: it’s just that I enjoy the lines I read more & time doesn’t allow for me to get to all. I’ve tried to read fave authors’ books when they move to other genres (usually, Paranormal), but, honestly, I hate them. No matter how well-written they just don’t interest me. I know this is NOT what many of my fave authors prefer, but, they’re my honest feelings.

    Best,

    Patricia

    • As they say, Patricia, honesty is always the best policy. I’d rather hear the truth than a lie. And I certainly get where you’re coming from. There’s so much chaos in real life, that craving a bit of predictability and seeking a guarantee of a good read is understandable. Hugs, sweets!

  10. CrystalGB says:

Hi Lori and Tony. Love your books. I read a variety of romance genres and mysteries. Your Sofie books sound good.

  11. Teresa W. says:

I enjoy reading all genres, love discovering new authors and series!

  12. Colleen says:

I enjoy the many genres of romance… I read whatever genre my mood calls for! (*)

  13. Virginia C says:

Wow…that tagline is an attention getter! I confess to being unfaithful to my favorite genre: Historical Western Romance! There are times when only a “Blaze” will do. Other times, I’m in a paranormal or mystery mood. Sometimes funky, spunky contemporary romance fits the bill. Then, there are those days when Regency resurges, and I cannot fight the overwhelming urge to dally with a Duke! Thanks to the wonderful world wide web, book blogs, book reviewiers, author and publisher sites and so many more readers’ delights, I am now unfaithful on an increasingly regular basis! Thank you…it feels so good to get that off my conscience : )

  14. Hi!! Wow, that post title got me, I thought we would have to make some type of confession!
Besides Blaze, I love historical and paranormal, have only started to branch out into more contemporary fair, so yeah, you just might be able to tempt me to try out your book, it does sound wonderful, Cheers!

And I LOVE that you are a husband and wife team, how cool is that? :-D

  15. Jeri says:

Oh yeah, I’ve been unfaithful… and it took me apparently forever to realize I’d enjoy reading contemporary romance (etc.) fiction beyond my old comfort zone. It’s been… really entertaining. ;-) A few years ago I fell off the mystery/scifi/fantasy/regency/non-romance historical wagon with a number of authors, including you. I’ve embraced so many others since then, and I’m so glad I did. I’m open for most anything, now. Wheee; it’sd a fun ride. (Y)

    • Whoa, hot mama! lol Isn’t experimenting fun? A whole world of sensations and scents to sample… Oh, wait, we’re talking books, aren’t we? ;D Keep that sense of adventure, Jeri! ;-)

  16. Nicole S says:

Well I must confess I’m unfaithful, I read a variety of other lines, but always come back to Blaze.

  17. Summer says:

I love Blazes, such great heroes, your Gauge is a favorite of mine, but yeah, count me among the unfaithful. I love to read a little of everything, from other Harlequin series, to the occasional YA title, and the classics.

    • Oooooh, yeah! Gotta love those bad boy musicians, Summer. He’s one of my absolute favorites, as well. The one hero readers love to hate and then fall in love with. What a challenge he was to write! The key was to make him real without compromising his principles…or lack thereof. Yum!

      • Paula R. says:

Gage was awesome! I loved that whole series, Lori. I still have em of course. I just need to meet you so I could your siggie along with Tony’s. I loved his lack of principles, but it all turned out great in the end. OOOhh, I see his name, and I get X-rated vision…LOL!!!

        Peace and love,
        Paula R.

      • Madelina says:

Ohman, getting me started on Gauge again! LOL! That series alone shows the awesomeness that is Tori Carrington! You know my feelings on Gauge and Nina and Kevin. I know I can’t ever shut up about it when they’re mentioned! lol I ALWAYS tell my friends to read those books. As much as I love/hate Gauge, I have to tell people to read them! Just like I like/despise Nina. My best friend laughs whenever I mention these books, Says I get so worked up about them. Oh and lets not leave out delicious Kevin. What can I say about him except, I want! lol see? Me likey the books. Next time I gab about Heidi and Kyle. Oh yeah and Jesse.

  18. Lisa says:

I read all kinds of genre. I don’t stick to one thing i like to mix it up. I have not read any of your Sofie series but perhaps i need to check into them. I am a series reader though. LOVE my series books!

    Lisa

    • Nothing wrong with loving your series books, Lisa. We love writing them! But our girl Sofie…well, she’s sold me on being a little more adventurous in our writing. My reading selections are wide and varied. Fiction, nonfiction, put a book in my hands, and I’m likely to read it…

  19. Linda says:

‘hi’ I am an avid reader of the blaze collection! I am sure I will love these as well.

  20. Donna McClure says:

    Hi Lori & Tony,

I love your Blaze books & I have read two of Sophie’s books. Like many others I don’t confine myself to just one line as I like a variety of books even some non-fiction. :-) My list of favorite authors is long and I tend to read their books. I really like romantic suspense and willingly try new authors.

The subject line really caught my attention! :-) I have been looking forward to the day you were blogging here. (Y)

  21. Donna McClure says:

Whoops! Sorry I misspelled Sofie!. Please forgive me.

  22. Madelina says:

Oh honey, I’m chronically unfaithful! I need a little variety and my tastes need to be satisfied. ;-) LOL! So here’s to being unfaithful. haha (D)

  23. Jane says:

    Hi Lori and Tony,
I definitely stray and sample other genres from time to time.

  24. Liza says:

I’ve read pretty much everything you have written except the Sophie books. Would love to give them a try. :-) I use to limit myself to certain genres, but now I’m up for reading anything.

  25. Lisa Cejka says:

I cheat all the time, but it’s with the romance books. They are the ones I hide away and enjoy in secret. If caught with one by an aquaintence, I have a story ready, my true friends know my secret, but it’s not public knowledge. :-)

  26. Amber says:

    Hi Lori,
I read pretty much everything..and make it a point to read anything i find with your name on it… Hate i missed the chat lastnight i got sidetracked…lol :-D

  27. Netti says:

For those of you who haven’t read Sofie, QUICK run out and get them, you are truly missing out on a fantastic series. I <3 this series.

    (Y)

  28. Wow! What a tremendous response. Thanks, guys. What a hoot!

‘Kay, gonna go climb on the treadmill, catch a shower, make some soup and I’ll be back to see what y’all are up to. Until then, be good! Hmm…then again, don’t!

    • Paula R. says:

Hey lady…I am back!! I wasn’t successful in finding Sofie’s book, but there is always tomorrow. I can actually drive into a city that has a bookstore.

      Peace and love,
      Paula R.

  29. bobbi says:

  30. Maria Connor says:

Sounds like a great reading adventure!

  31. Andrea says:

I read anything that catches my fancy. I read a lot of Blaze and just about every Harlequin imprint. If its a good story I’ll read it. I think I could cheat on them with Sofie. (K)

  32. Diana says:

Hi there. I’ve been meaning to check out this series for the longest time. I’d love to read the books. I’m a fan of your Blaze books! Hope everyone has a great weekend.

    • Hi, Diana! Thanks for posting and for your kind words. We’re glad you enjoy our Blazes and as a result are intrigued by the sound of Sofie’s series. So are you sure you’re ready to take a walk on the wild side, Greek style? ;-)

  33. kaisquared says:

    Hello again, Tony and Lori!
I don’t like to look at it as unfaithful, more like “open to (almost)any adventure” (I am sure there is a great Greek term for that, kind of like how Captain Jack describes himself as “omnisexual”……. “omnibibliophilic”?

    Bring on the baklava! ;-)

  34. ‘Kay, we’re going to give the California folks a chance to ring in, so look for us to post the winner first thing in the morning. Thanks, everyone, for coming out and sharing your thoughts! I had a blast getting a little wild with you… ;-)
