I couldn’t come up with a specific blog theme so today I’m going to treat you — hahahahahaha — to a consortium of random musings concerning my current obsessions. I know…try to contain yourself.
1) I’m obsessed with the weather. I probably blog more about the weather than any other author on this loop. What can I say other than it was a freakin’ wonderful 70 degrees Farenheit yesterday in Atlanta, GA? What I can say is that I’m sick of being cold. I know some of you live in a veritable winter wonderland where snow drifts are higher than your cat/car/house (pick one of the aforementioned) and I hate that for you. However, I’ll tell you what I hate even more…I live in a really cool loft apartment that is over 100 years old complete with huge factory windows that are single-paned. When I say it’s a cool apartment, well…take that both figuratively and literally. I’ve frozen my behonkus off this winter. When I finally decided to up my heat (and we’re not talking balmy here, folks — I’m still in a long-sleeved shirt with a sweatshirt over it), well, I got that gas bill. And had a heart attack. I’m trying to decide if I want to hock my dog on Craig’s List to fund my payment.
2) I’m not quite there yet, but I’m close to obsessed with working out. I did two classes back-to-back last night. Although the first one didn’t really count because it was a Step class and I’m so spastic I couldn’t get any of the steps down other than the basic up on the step and back down again thing.
3) Musicals. All of a sudden I’m planning to see Fiddler on the Roof and South Pacific within a four-week time span. I’d kind of forgotten how much I like musicals. Wonder when I might be able to catch Okalahoma?
So, that just about covers my current obsessions. What about you? What’s caught and held your attention lately?

Hey Jennifer! I feel for ya. I am sooooo ready for the warm weather to return.
Great job on the workouts. I envy your energy…(H)
Have fun at the musicals. I really need to schedule a few of those myself.
Looking forward to you next books. Can’t wait!!!

Well, now that you ask . . . fiber. Why? Because the HR person at hubby’s company was tasked with a “Wellness Initiative” and they’ve been having “Fiber Fridays.” I know. But she did us a favor, so we figured we’d drum up support. This led to me trolling the organic aisles (talk about sticker shock) for high-fiber food so I could enter the Fiber Snack Contest. After experimenting, I came up with a recipe with Ezekiel cereal ($6.50 a box), almond butter ($9.00 a jar) and bananas. I won second place. I don’t even like bananas.
I have been obsessed with Blaze! No, really! I have read 13 in the last 3 weeks.
And also the BBC show ‘Spooks’ (it has been shown in Canada and US as MI-5) Watching older seasons right now.
Baseball! Getting geared up for opening day, yes I am obsessed, I watch all 161 games of my team the Red Sox! (H)
Rambling musings! Interesting because it makes me think of conversations with friends when you jump from subject to subject.
Sometimes changing in mid-sentence!!! (I)
The weather, we all talk about it but we just have to take what comes!
The East coast has had more than it’s share of nasty weather this year, glad I am on the West coast in an area with a very mild climate. Yesterday we had a typical March day, weather constantly shifting from cloudy, sunny, possible showers & windy, cool as the storm was coming down out of Alaska.
My obesession, always my grandkids, daughters & family, reading, watching TV, enjoying life in general. Friends too.
Good topic. (Y) (H)
Oooh, I’ll join you in obsessing about the weather!! I should have been a storm chaser. Or a meteorologist. Or something. We’re finally getting snow!! Blizzard on Friday. Blizzard last night. And now another blizzard warning. Probably 3 feet of snow all told. Wheeee!!!!!!!!!! I won’t tell you how many different weather websites I have bookmarked and visit each day. Plus a couple on my phone.
Hi, Tami! We’re due some nice days, huh? As for the energy — it’s cause my workday consist of sitting on my butt!
And my next book is out in May, it’s the Blazing Bedtime Stories series — Goldilocks and the Three Brothers. It was a lot of fun to write.
OMG, Heather, you are killing me! And the final line — I don’t even like bananas. Too funny!
Karyn, obsession with Blaze is a good thing! (Y) (H)
West coast mild has a lot going for it, Donna, and your obsessions sound lovely!
Ah, Cathy, you ARE serious about your weather. Hey, a friend is taking a coures in storm tracking. You oughta see if one is offered near you.
Hi Jennifer, love your obsessions…I am so with you on the cold and watching musicals, but I just have to pass on the working out bit. I really shouldn’t, but I get just tired thinking about it…LOL!!! I would so love for summer to show up and take us out of our misery.
Peace and love,
Paula R.
Lockets…especially antique scent lockets or vinaigrette lockets. I became fascinated with them after watching The Vampire Diaries, where the hero gives the heroine a silver locket filled with an herb that prevents vampires from compelling you to do something. When I started looking for one to purchase, I was struck by how many beautiful scent lockets are out there, especially from the Victorian period, when ladies needed something pleasant to sniff when their surroundings became too malodorous. These lockets have small perforations in them, or have an open filigree design that allows the wearer to insert a small, scented pad inside. Once your body warms the locket, the scent is released. I now own three of these lovely necklaces.
