When the time comes for my next blog here my book will be off the shelves to make room for April’s Blazes. It’s been lovely to wander into bookstores, grocery stores and even drugstores to sign the copies of Possessing Morgan.
In one drugstore the Customer Service clerk I spoke with thought I was saying that I was the model on the cover! Ahem, I’ve never been brunette and it’s quite awhile since I could be mistaken for twenty-five. The poor woman looked like she was about to call for security when I pointed at my name and said, “No, I’m not the model. I wrote this book.”
In another store I had the Assistant Manager ask me for identification. Luckily I had my business cards with me. My comment to her was, “Hey, if I were going to impersonate a writer, it would be a famous one…not me!”
I guess I’ve gotten used to signing books in my local bookstore chain where they know me and my books. Having Possessing Morgan all over town has been a joy. My friends have seen it and reported sightings in other places, too. It came out in audio format right away and a reader emailed to let me know she’d found it at www.audible.com How cool is that?
I’ve also been garnering reviews from other sites on the web as well.
Harriet Klausner gave the book 4 stars and says: “This is an exhilarating romantic suspense although the thriller elements take a backseat (figuratively not literally) to the growing love between the lead couple. Morgan with her history and her current occupation brings the freshness to this fun brisk tale.”
And from Night Owl Romance’s Diana Coyle: . . . “All I can say is this story was HOT! I’m pretty certain steam was coming off the pages as I was reading them. Morgan and Mac were fantastic together and their chemistry was sizzling. I couldn’t put this story down and once you start reading it, I assure you you’ll feel the same way. Ms. Edwards created fun characters and a great storyline that will pull you in quickly and leaving you panting for more. I would highly recommend this story to other readers!
Diana gave Possessing Morgan a 4 out of 5 rating which Night Owl says is “a page turner”. A lovely ranking!
I’ve had a wonderful month! Spring’s in the air, my Blaze is still on shelves for another few days. Because I’m feeling a touch of Spring fever I’m giving away 1 copy of Possessing Morgan for the best “miscommunication” story we get here today.
I’ll post the winner at around 8 p.m. Eastern. So, what’s your story? Where has a conversation gone wrong for you? (Seriously, that clerk looked desperate for help – ack! A lunatic thinks she’s a gorgeous 20 something romance cover model – I’m still chuckling!)

Hey Bonnie, I already have the book so you don’t have to count me in. Just wanted to congratulate you. Love the story of mistaken identity in the stores. Hey, maybe your experience could turn into another sizzling Blaze. Hmmm leading man or woman mistaken for a cover model…interesting huh? Have a wonderful day. I will check back in later.
Peace and love,
Paula R.
Hm…mistaken identity or *hidden* identity. I have an idea that’s been in my head for some time. I’ll have to pull that out and look at it again.
Thanks for clicking on over Paula! And for all your support.
Bonnie
p.s. Happy Spring!
You are very welcome. I would be interested in seeing what you come up with for that mistaken/hidden identity plotline…should be very interesting.
Happy Spring to you too Bonnie. I hope you were able to spend some time in the wonderful sunshine.
Peace and love,
Paula R.
Miscommunication… boy has that happened a time or two… First with my name, for some reason when I introduce myself, people sometimes think I say Holly, not Colleen… :-S I do not know… but the other day was funny… we were supposed to meet our parents at a store… they told us Target… well there are three in our area… we thought it was our favorite one, so we went there… roaming around looking for them… ends up they were at another one… talk about not making yourself clear…
Colleen…love the Holly story. If people forget my name and meet me again a few weeks later, they tend to call me Donna. I think it’s similar enough or whatever…maybe they recall there are a couple of N’s in it or something.
But then my mother always called me by my sister’s name so I pretty much answer to everything…even Hey, You! on occasion.
Bonnie
Not sure if this is actually miscommunication but…..I have always looked younger than I really am and that has cause problems several times. One notable time was when I was a brand new teacher at the high school where I got my first teaching job. I was walking down the hall during my conference period and the principal (who had not met me because he had been absent for a time due to illness in the family) stopped me and chewed me out for wandering the halls during class time. I tried to get a word in edgewise to explain but he wouldn’t listen. :-O Luckily for me one of the teachers I had met showed up just in time and explained to him that I really was a new teacher there. I’m not sure what would have happened if she hadn’t come along.
Ellen, this is a pretty clear picture of how that principal interacted with students!
I knew a fellow who grew a very dark beard quite early. In 8th grade he sat in his new class and the other students assumed he was the teacher. Kind of reverse to your experience!
Happy spring,
Bonnie
I never did like that principal. Fortunately for me I only had to teach there one semester. I have had several young men in my classes when I was teaching high school students that looked more mature than some of the men teachers but they weren’t allowed to have facial hair. I could see how someone would mistake them for a teacher!
Hi, Bonnie! I just finished reading “Possessing Morgan”, and it was everything I anticipated from a great, red-hot “Blaze” read! Vivid characters, steamy sensuality and an intriguing, action-packed story line! Super sexy and a fun read!
Virginia, how kind! Thank you SO much for your comments. You’ve made my day, truly.
It’s nerve-wracking to publish with another line — worry about fitting in, about the readers’ reactions. I’m so pleased you enjoyed the book.
Thank you!
Bonnie
I have two tales of miscommunication. My first is. I once congratulated a women on her pregnancy, but she wasn’t pregnant, just overweight. She turned purple, i turned red and stammered an apology. Definitely one of the more embarrassing moments of my life. The second is a classic. I was talking to a guy one day, and our conversation was going very well and we really hit it off. And i was thinking that he and i could be friends, so I gave him my IM screen name. So we started chatting that evening, and than he started hitting on me. I just wanted friendship, he wanted quite a bit more. Lesson learned, spell out your romantic intentions or lack thereof. Possessing Morgan sounds really good Bonnie, glad to hear that it’s getting good reviews!
This happened to me. After a summer break from choir, I asked when one of the members was due and she said she’d had the baby three weeks earlier. Gaaa.
Hi everyone…back from shopping for dishes (sheesh, they’ve got some ugly sets out there). LOL (C)
I’m enjoying the stories: Re the pregnancy ones. It happens! Women don’t bounce back as quickly as movie stars make it seem and often we can still carry around some extra. (hey, give me a personal trainer, a nanny, and a good tummy tuck and I could…well, no, probably I couldn’t)
Ellen, I loved your “new teacher” story b/c it showed so much of the principal’s character. Which is always fascinating to a writer…so send me your snail mail addy via email and I’ll send along a signed copy of Possessing Morgan.
You can find me through my contact page on my site at http://www.bonnieedwards.com (meanwhile have a read through my sample chapters)
Enjoy! And again, may Spring bring nothing but wonderful things! (H)
WOW ~~ Thanks Bonnie
Address sent.
Congrats on winning PM Ellen! I have been mistaken for a student before as well, but not by a principal. When I first started my job, some of my students thought I was a teacher. They didn’t believe me until I they saw me on Monday. A lot of parents are usually surprised too, especially when they come in for parent teacher conferences.
Peace and love,
Paula R.
Audio??? I love me some audio books! Guess I am just going to have to get the audio version too! Glad you are having a great March, Bonnie. You deserve it. (F)
Ellen, email received! I hope you enjoy the book!
And Delilah, always a pleasure to see your name…Thanks so much for checking in.
Bonnie
Congrats Ellen! (*)
