Happy Mother's day! My "babies" are the four legged kind, and to me they're my babies.

Patsy what a beautiful story you shared!

Patsy, that says a lot about your style of mothering. (*)

I'm looking at my all-time favorite mother's day card. It's a photo in which one of my sons is writing "Happy Mother's Day!" in green magic marker on his younger brother's stomach.

That's an awesome story, Patsy.

I am not like the other mothers, either, Jennifer. People sometimes don't realize what my life is like (it's hard to explain). I love it, craziness and all. Being a mother has given me so many life lessons, plus I get the best 'payments' in hugs and kisses.

(U) Mine isn't so goofy but heart warming. I met my step daughter when she was nine years old. A few years ago (keep in mind now she is 29) she told me that when I moved in with her dad he had told her my daughter (at the time 18 months old) and I were going to stay with him for a while till we found our own place because my room mate at the time had moved out while I was at work never saying a thing to me about it.
What is so funny is Chris and I were moving in together permanently and he didn't know how she would feel about it. She told me that every time she came to her dad's house for his weekend she prayed that we would still be there because I always made sure there was lots to eat and we had fun and I took her shopping and treated her no different than I treated my own daughter.
I was so touched that she prayed that wouldn't leave before she saw us again. (U)
