In fact, I’m spending the Canada Day long weekend at the cottage (no computer, no cell phone service—in other words, paradise! (H) ) so I won’t be able to add to the discussion until July 5. But I’ll be back, so be sure to add your comments.

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY to all in the US and HAPPY CANADA DAY to all in Canada. The city I live in usually has a barge moored in the bay that it almost surrounds and shoots off fireworks that can be seen for miles (there is a fireworks ban within the city limits) but I’m not sure it will come off this year since there is still rain falling from Hurricane Alex’s rain bands.

I love summer and this summer I have alot of time to read, which I love. So over this holiday I plan on doing just that and having a fish fry with family and friends. When we sent out a Happy 4th email with all the activities around town, one of the managers said, what about Canada Day – as she was from up north. You can believe I popped out a second email about the history of Canada Day…
