It’s the cover for my second Blaze, SEDUCE AND RESCUE!
SEDUCE AND RESCUEcover This book is a sequel to my first Blaze, LET IT RIDE that was released last May ‘09. Seduce and Rescue also takes place in Vegas and at Nellis Air Force Base, and all the buddies from the first book are back in this one–including Captains McCabe and Hughes, who are up to their usual pranks. There’s only one person who hasn’t paid up from the bet the guys made in the first book, and that’s this book’s hero, Lt Col. Ethan Grady.
I’m so excited about this story, because it was such fun to write. My heroine, Lily, was impulsive and wild, and likely to do anything that popped into her head, which made for some really fun scenes. Here’s the blurb from the back of the cover:
Out of the fire…and
into his bed!

Lieutenant Colonel Ethan Grady is having his very first massage with a rather eccentric but smokin’-hot redhead, Lily Langford. But her touch isn’t so much calming as it is very distracting. When he accidentally sets Lily’s business and home ablaze, Ethan can’t tell if the smoldering is from the fire…or their attraction to each other! But now Ethan’s condo is invaded by the free-spirited Lily, who’s convinced that he’s the one who really needs to be rescued. And Lily’s methods? Well, they’re not so traditional. Still, Ethan can’t remember having his chakras aligned so…er, intensely. But will this be rescue—or retreat?

Isn’t the cover gorgeous? Even though Lily is technically a redhead, this picture just perfectly encapsulates my idea of Lily and Ethan.
SEDUCE AND RESCUE will be on shelves October 1st!
And i just learned my next Blaze will keep my working title PRIMAL CALLING, and will be released in March 2011. PRIMAL CALLING is about a reclusive Alaskan bush pilot and the Travel Channel celebrity who sneaks aboard his plane. Things heat up fast when they get stranded on the frozen tundra!
So, I guess I don’t have a question except…don’t you think the Harlequin Art Department has been doing a fantastic job with the Blaze covers?

I love the covers of the book!! I think they are doing a fabulous job!! I love looking at the covers before reading the backs.

    • hi Cim,
      Me too!
There’s nothing like the thrill of grabbing a book off the shelf at the bookstore (or off my TBR pile by my bed) and relishing the cover art and turning it over to read the back cover blurb.
      Hugs,
      J

Congrats on the cover, and keeping your new book title!! I look forward to reading it. LOL – as a relatively new Alaskan, it is fun to read other perspectives on Alaska! :-D

  7. Hi Cathy!
    Thank you!
    Where in Alaska are you?
My story takes place in Barrow. I did a lot of research and had 2 people who live in Anchorage and Fairbanks answer some questions for me. I hope my details are as accurate as possible. :-$ You’ll have to let me know, ok?

    • Cathy W says:

Oooh, Barrow is certainly way out there! :-) I’m in Homer, way down on the Kenai Peninsula. Amazing place, most certainly.

Hi Jillian! I Have to agree with everyone else I love the Blaze covers! Thay are always so sexy, and the men, WOW! The only thing that bugs me sometimes is when they put a model with different hair color. Like you said your character is a redhead and they used a blond. Some times it throws me when Im reading, lol! I guess thats what i get for being a visual person, lol!

Cant wait to read this one and the one you have coming out in Dec. Have a great day! (*)

    • Hi Alina,
I KNOW! Have you SEEN the guys on the Blaze covers for THIS month?? :-P Hubba hubba! I know some people think they’re cheesy or are embarrassed to carry around a book with that kind of cover, but give me a bare-chested man on my cover ANY day, baby! I’m a visual person too.
And you make my day when you say you can’t wait to read my books.
      Hugs,
      J

      • Alina Duffer says:

The Blaze men are always HOTT! I dont think I have ever scene one thats not. My hubby teases me that I buy them just for the covers, lol! I am definetly not a person who gets embarrassed about carrying it around either. I always have my book with me. What ever Im reading at the moment!

That is a great cover. I love his smile! I have a huge Blaze collection (100+) and they have some of my favorite covers. Two in particular come to mind, the covers for “Overexposed” by Leslie Kelly and “Relentless” by Jo Leigh. So glad there’s a sequel to Let It Ride, i read it and hoped that i could read more about the other characters. The Let It Ride cover is pretty nice too as i remember. This month’s cover guys ARE nice, I’m not embarrassed at all to carry around covers with bare-chested men. Yum!

    • Hi Lauren,

Omg, I Totally agree with you about Overexposed and Relentless! :-P And Hope Tarr’s The Tutor is really sexy to me, too. Oh well, they all are for the most part. And yes, I was especially pleased with the cover for Let It Ride. That cover won first place in the JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER contest last year, too.
I’m in the middle of writing the story for McCabe and Hughes now and they are giving me a hard time. They’ve been friends for so long, and Mitch has been so hurt by his childhood and his ex wife, he just does NOT trust women, and he’s so confused right now, poor baby because the person he’s thought of as his best friend for the past 12 years is now…a woman. :-S

  10. Kim Lyn says:

LOVE the cover!! All of them are nice to sit and look at. ;-)

Can’t wait to get it … as well as your future books!!
