Since I’m currently attending the Romance Writers of America conference in Orlando (with lots of the other Blaze Babes), I thought I’d make this blog about writing. Writing is a lonely profession. Lots and LOTS of hours spent alone with a computer and my thoughts. Toss in the stress of deadlines, and is it any wonder that a writer would feel the need to be renewed? Attending the RWA conference is an annual renewal for me. There’s something so great about being with people who go through the same things you do on a daily basis. Seeing friends that you only see once a year.
Being with my friends at this conference once a year fills the writer well that gets depleted the other 360 days of the year. Of course, I’m also a big fan of facials and retail therapy. Boat rides, walking along the beach, sitting in a hot tub, curling up with a good book, and a date with the DH also renew me. So–what renews you? How do you get your mojo back? Hope you’re having a fabulous day!

(C) While getting lost in a good book does wonders for me, I think listening to music can go a long way to making me whole again. My hubby can do this as well but sometimes he can add to my stress not meaning to. LOL
(T) I try to write when I am alone and he and our youngest daughter aren’t around because even at 21, she finds the need to talk to me at the most inopportune times. What can I say my family loves me but really has no clue what their interruptions do.
(8) So I sit back and listen to some music and read after I get some writing in and I am ready to face the rest of my day with renewed energy.
Morning Jacquie! These day renewing myself is hard to do. When I can I lose myself in a good book and that helps. Also talking to my best friend. The best way is going on a date with my hubby when we get a chance. I also try to lose myself in my writing, but these days even thats hard to do. Summer time is crazy in my house. I do have to say that turning on some music and singing and dancing can do wonders for me too.
Enjoy RWA! (*)
I do a spa day once every six months and a night away once every six months. I did do a week away from the clan, which REALLY did me wonders. Loved every minute of it. I also get a Starbuck’s every so often (once a month). Reading does lots of wonders along with watching really bad reality tv. LOL.
I’d have to say getting lost in a good book always gives me a break from reality. And cranking up some tunes and dancing around the house with my kids is a good stress reliever as well.
But my most favorite thing to do just for me is getting my hair done. At my last appointment I managed a massage as well, and it was heaven. Feeling all lose and floppy seemed to make coming home to make dinner and clean up the house and do bedtime routines go a little smoother.
Enjoy RWA and your annual renewal!!
