Well, I’ve only been back from conference for a few days, but I am still floating on air. I got to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter with Brenda Chin and friends. (That’s fellow Blazer Kira Sinclair with me and Brenda.) I rode the Forbidden Journey, got my wand–Lupin’s–had butterbeer (YUM!) went to Devish and Bangs, the Hog’s Head, The Three Broomsticks, Honeydukes and Zonko’s. I posted letters for my kids in Hogsmeade and basically made a giant nerd of myself. Ask me do I care?
<If that wasn't enough, I got my 25 book pin at the Harlequin party AND I won the National Readers' Choice Award in the Short Contemporary category for LETTTERS FROM HOME. Color me THRILLED. I was in excellent company with lots of friends and fellow Blaze babes and have no recollection of what I said when I went forward because I hadn't prepared anything. I was happy just to final, but have to admit that winning was especially nice.
AND I have a book out this month–THE RENEGADE–which I will happily send to five lucky commenters at the end of the day. Winners, look for the announcement in the comment tail. I'll use my wand.
So, what’s happening in your world?

Hi, Rhonda! Congratulations on #25 and your pin, and your award for your short story! Sounds like you had a terrific time at the conference! In the past week, I quietly turned 52, have read a bunch of books, laughed repeatedly at my cats and just about bathed in sweet iced tea with lemon to beat the heat. In honor of my birthday, I invented “Cheesecake S’Mores”. The experiments have continued on a daily basis : )
A big congratulations on your Reader’s Choice award and your 25 book pin. I really enjoy your books so I’m not surprised you won. Was the Harry Potter world all it’s hyped up to be ? It looks like it would be a lot of fun. The only thing happening in my world is this weekend my sister is renewing her wedding vows on Sunday. Her 50th anniversary is today. We are having a family get together Saturday so I’m looking forward to that. My brother will be back and I only get to see him a couple of times a year so I’m excited. I get to show off my new grandbaby too so that’s great.
Congrats!! 25-WOW!!!!!!!! Looks like you had a wonderful time.
I am taking the day off work today to take my kids back-to-school shopping. Their school starts Monday. YUCK!!

(C) What am I up to in my world??? Well not much today but this past week has been a busy one. I just finished setting up my new fish tank. I now am the proud mom of two Black Mollies and two Long Finned Silver Tailed Tetras. At the begining of the month when I get paid again I am going to get two Red Mollies and maybe two of another kind(not sure what kind yet).
I hope you have a great weekend. I will be doing some gardening and more of that dreaded laundry that never seems to end. (N)
Congratulations on 25 book pin and winning the award! Letters From Home was a fantastic book. The Harry Potter stuff sounds like a whole lot of fun.
In my world I’ve been busy with work and ball games. There is only a month left in the season, sadly.
Congratulations on winning the Reader’s Choice Award for Short Contemporary and for getting your 25 books pin. Sounds like you had a blast at the conference. (Y)
It’s this time of the year when I am glad I finally retired from teaching (35 years of it) and don’t have to worry about getting ready for the school year. Good luck to all who are rushing to get in everything that must be done before school starts. :-O
Congratulations Rhonda. That’s wonderful. I am packing up my office to move to another office and I am taking next week off work while my dad has cancer surgery.
Rhonda,
Congrats on winning the Reader’s Choice Award and getting your 25 book pin. I always treasure your stories. You write with so much heart.
I have been sick all week with an upper respiratory virus. Not much fun, but today is day 7 and I am feeling more like myself now.
Tammy, I hope you get better. You are the third person in three days who has pnemonia type ickiness. Crystal, I hope your dad gets better.
Congrats, Rhonda on both #25 and the Reader’s choice. Whoot.
Me, same old, same old….it’s crazy camp season in my world. From Sunday until Saturday, my husband has a birthday, our anniversary, and then my 40th on Saturday. Whoot! I have been trying to squeeze in the last of the ‘fun things’ we like to do (and haven’t done a single one, that happens when you go away for five weeks).
Please don’t enter me in the drawing as I already own it (do you think I would miss out on a Soapbox Queen book???).
Rhonda-
Congrats on winning the Reader’s Choice Award and you 25 book pin. I enjoy your stories so very much.
What have I been up to?? Well, it is with a heavy heart to say that summer is winding down here and not only our my boys getting ready to go back to school, but I must start to get my class ready too. I already have meetings to start to attend next week. I have no idead where the summer has gone. I have caught up on alot of my reading!!Yeah!! But, it seems it will all start to build again soon once school starts.
Hope you had a great time visiting Harry Potter. We hope to go see him soon too!!
Thanks for the great stories that are a big part of my world.
Congrats on your award and pin!!! Looks and sounds like you had a grand time!
I am doing my usual, watching nephew #2 + nephew #1 until school starts monday… read a few of my TBR books, maybe watch a few dvds this weekend… have to clean the bird cages…
Congratulations on #25, and the reader’s choice. I’m working on the first draft of what I hope could someday be my #1, and I am very envious of your Harry Potter adventure.
Congratulations on the pin and the award! It looks like you had a great time at the conference and I can’t wait to read your latest release.
Congrats!! Looks like you had a great time.
Hi Rhonda,
Congrats on the award and on receiving your pin for 25 books. Nothing exciting is happening with me, but I’m looking forward to visiting my friend who I haven’t seen since Christmas.
Hi Rhonda! Congrats on your pin for 25 books! Thats awesome! I am very jealous that you got to go to Harry Potter World. I want to go so bad. I think I want to go more then my kids do, lol! As for me, this weekend I am finally going to get to go see Eclipse! I am very excited! I have already read The Renegade and loved it! I love your Men Out Of Uniform series! They are all very HOT books! Love them!
Have a great day! (*)
Congratulations on your award and pin!
Looks and sounds like you had a great time!
Congrats on the pin and award! You’ve worked very hard and definitely deserve it! My plans for this week entail going to our County Fair to cope with the hundred degree temps–I’ll live on ice cream and lemonade while there in order to keep cool. Must also do some kidsitting for two days for a friend. And then of course there’s the reading and reviewing I must get done and the week becomes super busy.
Was great seeing you at RWA, Rhonda! Congrats again on the NRCA win and the 25 book pin! xox
Congratulations!!!! I so want to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter…it sounds awesome! Was the butterbeer as described in the books? I always wondered what it would really taste like. Anyway, I’ll be driving home tomorrow to see my parents…can’t wait!
Sounds like you had an awesome time!! I’m only a little bit jealous of your trip to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Well, maybe more than a little …
