Dawn Atkin's first SuperRomance cover

Dawn Atkin's first SuperRomance cover

I just saw the cover of my November SuperRomance and got that old jittery feeling from when my first book was about to come out–24 books ago, by the way. That’s because this is my first SuperRomance and though it’s solidly a Dawn Atkins book, with the same sensuality, emotion and type of story, it has a slightly different flavor. I love this story. It has a long and complex history and has gone through many changes over the years since the idea of it popped into my mind and would not leave until I wrote it. It’s about a girl whose home is the mall where she more or less grew up and the man who’s about to sell it out from under her.

I’m nervous. Will readers of my Blaze stories pick up this new book? Do people even BUY Christmas books? How about new readers? Will they take a chance on a “new” SuperRomance author? And, perhaps most importantly, will they choose a cover with a demon dog leering up at the couple?

This made me laugh–the weird dog picture–since the reason a Cavalier King spaniel is even in the book is because I think they’re the cutest puppies EVER. I mean, melt-your-heart, stuffed-animal darling. Where this possibly rabid beast came from is beyond me. Sigh.

So, somebody reassure me that even spawn of Satan spaniels won’t scare away buyers, okay? And what do you think about new/old authors writing for different lines? Oh, and Christmas books? Do they get you in the spirit or are they overkill?

Okay, time to lie down with an ice pack on my head.
Best,
Dawn Atkins

    Hi Dawn,

I love you cover and the puppy is adorable. I am a SuperRomance fan too. I can’t wait to buy this book. I am a Dawn Atkins fan no matter what the line. And I love Christmas stories too. I predict you will have big sales for this book.

(&) I see no problem with the dog… When the book comes out I’ll give it a closer inspection. I like Christmas books even in the HOT August days.
If an author is good I will read any of their books no matter what line they publish under… ;-)

I adore Holiday books and buy them every year. I usually like reading them a few months before or after the holidays to keep the spirit going!

Also, dog on cover = auto buy. LOL. Not always, but I do pick them up and check them out 100% of the time. Love a dog on a cover and in the story.

I love Christmas books and Dawn Atkins books, but I do admit that dog has a weird look on his face. I think king springer spaniels are cute, but that one looks like he’s saying “get a room” LOL.

I have to say I love Christmas books any time of the year. Even in the summer!! And I love reading anything by anyone “new” … what would be the point of even reading if you shied away from a new author? Wither they’re NEW or just new to me … that’s how I’ve found my most favorite authors!!

But the dog is a little creepy. lol I’ve read enough books to notice some of the covers don’t depict what’s exactly in the story. I buy a book based on the description … not off the cover picture. Unless of course, it’s a REALLY good picture. ;-)

Looking forward to reading it!! Sounds good!!

The cover is lovely. I do enjoy Christmas romances. I don’t see anything wrong with authors writing for different lines. I like the variety.

Hi Dawn! I would have to say I am more author loyal then line loyal. If I read a book by an author I really like I will read anything they write. And since I love all the Blaze Babes, I will read anything any of you write. It’s cool to, it has expanded my reading quiet a bit. I am also one of those people who loves seasonal stories. I love holiday romances with Christmas trees and mistletoe, roaring fires and snowstorms. As for the dog on the cover, it’s not that bad, lol! I can’t wait to read it!

    Have a great night! (*)
