I think if I told my daughter we were having an internet free day I would wind up with a very miserable daughter. lol She is always on the computer and cell phone. I could turn everything off and it wouldn't bother me. I would just read if I were staying home. Just a thought, would the kindle be included? If so, I do have paperbacks to read.

Yes, definitely, though it's pretty filling (unless you have teenaged boys in the house, I had a sensible serving and they finished the rest). It's also great to accompany a main meat dish if you have a vegetarian around.

This looks incredibly yummy. Is it something you could cut up into small squares and serve as an appetizer while the cook (me) runs around like crazy?

I've only been unplugged while traveling and while on vacation but never at home. I can't say that I cared for it too much though. :o:

I haven't heard much about the Kobo. Disappointing to hear that about the Fire. I have trouble seeing my phone outside, but I'd hoped ereaders would have figured out how to make it easier to see.

I find it's out of sight, out of mind. It's the same as when I record a TV show. I almost never watch it because I don't think about it. I have a lot of ebooks, but I forget to look through them if I have a print book to read.

Hi Laney! Your friends are lucky to have you. Friendships do take work to maintain over the long haul. I'm usually a good nurturer of these relationships, but there have been a few times where life has steamrolled me and I haven't been a great friend. I'm really grateful to the girlfriends who made the extra effort when I couldn't, and I try to pay them back when I know they're overwhelmed too. But I hear you... sometimes it's surprising to lose touch with someone you were close with, but the effort has to be mutual.
